Local standout player and coach, Jake Briede joins MRFC as the club's Technical Director and Director of Coaching. Jake will work directly with players and coaches each week to build technical skills.
Jake grew up in Decatur playing club soccer with Citadel FC and had a successful soccer career at Bellmont High School where he was a 4 year varsity letter winner and set the single season scoring record (20 goals and 6 assists). He then went on to star at the University of St. Francis and was named captain of the men's soccer team both his Jr. and Sr. years.
Coach Briede was an assistant coach with Citadel FC from 2010-2012. He then became the head boys soccer coach at Bellmont High School from 2012-2018. During his time as head coach at Bellmont, Jake's teams set the school record for wins in a season (15) in 2017, won the NE8 conference title (2017), and 3 sectional titles (2013, 2016, 2017).
"What excites me most about MRFC is working with youth and improving skills as individuals as well as teams. Giving back to the community is very important to me and being able to do it by coaching a sport I love makes it even better!"

Ian Gilbert began playing soccer in Adams County in his youth and has been involved in the sport locally ever since. He was a varsity letter winner on the 1st Bellmont High School soccer team in 1994 where he played a big role in getting the sport off the ground.
Ian brings 30 years of coaching experience to MRFC that includes Rec, Select, Middle School, and High School levels. He has been the goalkeeping coach for the Bellmont boys soccer team since 2015 and the Bellmont Middle School boys and girls soccer teams since 2020. During his time coaching the HS boys, his keepers have earned 6 consecutive All-Conference honors, set school records for wins in a season, saves in a season, and lowest goals against average.
Ian is also serving as the current MRFC Board President.
"It has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager to have club soccer in Decatur. I am thrilled about this opportunity for our community and can't wait to train young keepers to be great players and leaders!"
Emily Gephart will coach our U15 team. Emily grew up playing soccer in Decatur as well as club soccer in Fort Wayne. She was a varsity starter for the Bellmont girls soccer team.
Emily has 4 years of coaching experience that includes assisting the Bellmont Middle School girls soccer team.
Emily also serves as the MRFC Board of Directors secretary.
"I am excited to coach for MRFC to see the players develop and give area youth a local competitive option. My favorite part about coaching is watching the players grow and showcase their skills that have been learned."
Holland Herman will coach the U12s. A Decatur native, Holland began playing soccer in elementary school. He was a 4 year varsity letter winner for Bellmont High School earning all-conference status. He went on to earn a college scholarship and played for the University of Northwestern Ohio.
Holland has 5 years of volunteer soccer coaching experience.
"Being a part of a new club is extremely exciting to me. I look forward to having the opportunity to share my love for the game, while mentoring youth, helping them improve at the competitive level, as well as growing as a person is what fuels my coaching passion."

Shayna was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN. She played from U8-U18 in several travel leagues including Fort Wayne United and Fort Wayne Sport Club. During her high school soccer career, she played for Bishop Luers High School and was the top scorer in the SAC her junior year. She would lead her team to three consecutive years to semi-state births. Shayna continued her collegiate and scholastics at Purdue University where she was captain all four years. Previous coaching history includes one year with Soccer Shots of Fort Wayne coaching U5-U8 co-ed soccer and summer league coach for Fort Wayne Sports Club.
